About this journal

China and Arab countries have a history of friendly exchanges for more than two thousand years. The ancient Silk Road linked the two civilizations together and made important contributions to the development of human civilization. At present, the world is undergoing unprecedented changes, and both China and Arab countries are facing the common task of maintaining peace and achieving development. Therefore, whether from a historical perspective or a realistic perspective, China and Arab countries have many academic topics worth studying.

There are a wealth of specialized journals on Middle East issues and Chinese Studies now. However, academic journals discussing exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and Arab civilizations are still blank. Chinese and Arab Studies (CAAS) which established by Beijing Foreign Studies University, aims to change the current situation of weak direct academic exchanges between China and Arab World, build a dialogue platform for both sides on academic topics of mutual concern, as well as promote the development of Arab studies in China and Chinese studies in Arab countries. The journal mainly focuses on topics that discuss the development of relations between China and Arab countries from the perspective of civilization, culture, and thought.

The language of this journal is Arabic, but the target group of this publication is not only scholars from Arab countries, but also scholars from all over the world who can use Arabic to conduct Middle Eastern studies, Chinese studies, and China-Arab relations studies.
